BEDIGIT Project Newsletter – Training development
The BEDIGIT project has entered its next phase, the development of training material.
Following the successful completion of our Digital Inclusivity and Sustainability
Assessment, our consortium is now finalising the tailored training material designed to
bridge the gaps identified in our research.
The findings from our online surveys and focus groups, conducted in the participating
countries, Spain, Cyprus, and Ireland, provided valuable insights into the challenges
faced in digital accessibility, sustainability, and trust in online democratic participation.
The training material address key issues such as digital literacy, cybersecurity,
sustainable technology use, and inclusive digital practices. These resources have been
designed to support educators, professionals, SMEs, and marginalized communities,
ensuring that all individuals have equal opportunities and can participate in the digital
world safely and responsibly. The training modules cover:
1. Digital Inclusion & Diversity: Understanding the gap and implications of the digital
divide along with strategies to foster inclusivity, drawn from cross-border insights
and exercises to understand and navigate digital challenges.
2. Digital Environmental Sustainability: Introduction to sustainable digital practices
combined with a compilation of resources and real-world case studies from the
EU that will promote environmental sustainability.
3. Digital Cooperation & Trust: The module will explore the landscape of trust and
the effect of digital trust and cybersecurity. Guidelines, tools, and best practices
will support in instilling and maintaining trust in digital platforms.
4. Civic Engagement in the Digital Age: The module will promote the understanding
of online democratic processes and strategies to foster responsible digital
citizens with role-play exercises.
5. European Union Digital Unity: The module will promote the importance of a
unified European digital approach highlighting successful collaborative European
digital initiatives.
The BEDIGIT team is committed to developing accessible, and practical training modules
that align with real-world needs.
What’s Next?
As we finalize the training, the next steps will focus on testing and refining the materials
through feedback by internal and external stakeholders.
These sessions will set the stage for the Digital Champions Workshops, where
participants will gain hands-on experience and practical skills to apply their knowledge
in real-world digital settings. The Workshops will be a key step in scaling the project’s
impact and ensuring lasting digital inclusion and sustainability across Europe.
Follow our journey as we develop these innovative training modules and prepare for the
upcoming Digital Champions Workshops.
