BEDIGIT Project Newsletter: Advancing Digital literacy through training modules
The Building European Digital Inclusion and Trust (BEDIGIT) project, co-funded by the
Erasmus+ Programme, continues its mission to enhance digital accessibility,
sustainability, and trust in online democratic processes.
As part of this initiative, our consortium has successfully completed the initial research
phase, which involved conducting surveys and focus groups in the participating
countries, Spain, Cyprus, and Ireland.
Key findings
Through extensive data collection and stakeholder engagement, we identified:
✓ Digital accessibility barriers related to affordability, usability, and inclusivity,
✓ Gaps in digital literacy, especially in cybersecurity, online privacy, and safe digital
engagement,
✓ Limited awareness of sustainable digital practices and the environmental impact
of digital consumption,
✓ Concerns over trust in digital democratic platforms, with participants calling for
stronger transparency and security measures.
Next steps: Developing Digital training modules
With these insights, our consortium is now focused on designing digital training
modules to equip individuals with essential skills and knowledge.
These modules will target the following areas:
✓ Digital inclusion – Ensuring all individuals, regardless of background, have
access to and can effectively use digital tools,
✓ Sustainability in digital environments – Encouraging green IT practices and
responsible e-waste management,
✓ Cybersecurity & trust-building – Strengthening online safety measures and digital
resilience,
✓ Democratic participation – Educating users on secure engagement in online
democratic spaces.
How You Can Participate
We will invite educators, professionals, and community members to get involved by
sharing insights, participating in upcoming training, and promoting digital inclusivity.
Follow our journey as we develop these innovative training modules and prepare for the
upcoming Digital Champions Workshops.
